The New Technorati
The new Technorati are laying to claim to the world. But unlike the days of old, they numbers in the millions. They are us. We have more technology at our fingertips today than the richest person in the world did just 20 years ago. The kicker is most of it is free.
We can make free phone calls around the world, we have access to free email, the latest weather, recipes, stock and market prices with more tools to analyze them than you can shake a stick at. Plus about a 1,000 other things that are working behind the scenes that we take for granted.
You blackberry has more processing power than the largest commercial computer did only 20 years ago. While the programming in it definitely does not make use of all that horsepower, it is there.
I will be bringing you some of the cutting edge tools that you more than likely have never heard about. The rules of thumb are:
- The device or service has to be easy to use
- It has to add significant value
- It has to really save time
- I will show you practical uses for them as they apply to making money
Now I will also be bringing you some old things that are still very useful. The fact that something has been around for awhile does not mean it has caught on or that it is not good. The fax machine was invented in the 1800’s but it took almost 100 years for it to catch on.
So as not to overwhelm you, I will be dribbling out a few of these every week. This is so that you can have a chance to use and implement these bits of technology and integrate them into your everyday life. Because what good is something if it is not used?
